The end of the year has many of us reflecting on what we’ve accomplished, what we care about and our goals for the coming year. In 2016, it became clear that well-integrated partnerships are forces of nature for any business looking for stable growth. We ourselves have been fortunate to work with various charities and organisations during Dando’s young existence. And it’s humbling to know we can help our local communities with our passion and expertise whenever we can. Here are just some of the organisations we’ve worked with so far.

Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF)

Founders Thomas Jobling and Liz Heliotis have been on a mission to fast-track early detection for ovarian cancer since 2000. They have amassed widespread support including an array of ambassadors, partners and sponsors from various industries, such as WitcheryoOh!media and ANGRYchair. For Dando, we were entrusted with building their brand new website, and came on board as Creative Support Partner of OCRF. With that, we celebrated a massive win for Witchery and OCRF’s White Shirt Campaign with fellow supporters at the Silver Style Cocktail Party recently, which was a fantastic way to close off 2016!

Dad’s Group Inc.

When Tom Docking became a dad, he realised that there was a lack of support and community groups for first-time fathers. That’s when Tom decided to start Dad’s Group Inc. as a means for new dads to connect digitally and face-to-face through communities. With their new website and mobile app – built by Dando – fathers around the country can now find a local Dad’s Group in their local area, share information and experiences, and organise group outings and meet-ups. A favourite event of Dando’s Founder, Steve is the Man With A Pram walk. Check it out their website here and download the app on the Apple or Android store to find your nearest Dad’s Group.

Good Life Farm

The idea of the initiative comes from a personal place for Founder, Lesley Porter. During her troubled childhood, she was comforted by animals at a local holiday farm. The life-changing experience motivated Lesley to establish Good Life Farm, a place where distressed children can heal and rediscover their innocence. Good Life Farm runs programs in life and social skills, animal studies and student wellbeing, which you can learn more about on their fully responsive website that our Dando champions built for them.

Richmond Primary School

Just down the Yarra River from the Dando office, Richmond Primary School provides a vibrant place for local students to learn. They base all that they do on Respect, Responsibility and Resilience – something we resonate with 100 percent. We designed and developed their awesome website recently – so check it out and learn more about they’re about here.

For Dando, the Richmond and Melbourne locale is always home; from that moment in local history that Mr John Dando stepped on Australian soil in 1853, to Steve carrying down the name in the Dando we know today. We love where we are and all that we do in the digital world – and sharing that with our neighbours far and wide comes naturally for us. So if you’re ever in the Richmond area or in need of some digital advice, come by and say hi to us anytime at 656 Bridge Road, Richmond – just a nice walk down near the Yarra River. Otherwise, hit us up at hello@wearedando.com and we’ll get back to you within 48 hours!
